Resolved Question: Criminal Background Check?
During the summer I went to Colorado for a door to door sales job. And I got arrested in Boulder Colorado. I was book into population and they took pictures of me and finger printed me. I was book into population for a day. But they drop my case and drop my case and give me a PB (I think that is what is called) Now, i live in California and will be doing a Fingerprinting job for live scan services for a job. (criminal background check). Now, i was wondering would i pass the fingerprinting job or would i not just because of the case in Colorado. That was my first time getting arrested in a state where i do not live and it was kinda of stupid how i got arrested. moreResolved Question: Do I need to list a criminal charge on an application if I was under 18.?
When I was 16 I was charged with public indecency, a class 1 petty offense. I live in Colorado and was not charged as an adult (if that helps). Im now 19 and I am looking for an apartment. One of the places I am applying at wants to do a background check and I wasnt sure if I need to list it since I was under 18. Also my job told me when I got hired that I dont need to list anything if I was under 18. So Im not sure if that goes for all jobs and apartments too. Thanks moreResolved Question: Help please. Which state should I choose in applying for an NCLEX-RN?
I have narrowed down the states to choose from based on Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) and Non-CGFNS states. I am from the Philippines and looking forward to work in the US. These states are participants of the NLC and DOES NOT require CGFNS Qualifying Exam: Arizona Colorado Kentucky Maryland New Mexico North Carolina South Carolina Texas I have excluded Arkansas because it will take 12 months for its BON to conduct a background criminal check before the application can actually be processed, which I think is very long period of waiting. My first choice is Maryland because I have relatives there. But through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), I will have a chance to pick the best state out of these 8 and later on join my relatives in Maryland. And if you could let me know which of the states I have mentioned is a good catch or bad one and please state the reason (i.e. cheap cost of living, high taxes, low paying jobs, high unemployment rate, housing cost, or anything else that matters in migrating to that certain state) I am also researching on these states more but I want to get a first hand opinion from those who actually experienced living there or have friends/relatives who actually did, or some people who just happen to know the place. Thanks in advance! moreResolved Question: In Colorado, do they check your credit when doing a background check when applying for a conceal and carry?
Going through the conceal and carry class, and will be applying for the license. Have no criminal history, but poor credit. Will I be denied? moreResolved Question: Can I get a background check through the Police/Sheriffs dept on myself?
Hey guys, I am having a really difficult time finding work in Colorado. The job market is really tough, and my background check is killing me (far as I know). I am wanting to see if I can get my own criminal record through a law enforcement agency, like the Police or Sheriffs dept. My 2 convictions sound so much worse and more severe than they actually are. I am concerned that employers are more concerned with the name of the convictions than the severity. They are both only Class 3 misdemeanors, which are only one step above "petty offenses", and the lowest form of misdemeanors. Anyways, if any lawyers or law enforcement ppl can give me an idea about this, it would be great. I am wanting to see in my own eyes what the convictions actually say without giving any online Credit Card information. Thank you so much, and take care!! Matt moreResolved Question: Will my wife ever be able to get a good job with a Bachelors degree and a criminal record?
She has a bachelors degree in psychology and most jobs in this field of study require background checks. She was arrested for assault, charged with who knows what, and accepted a plea/deferred judgement for a lesser offenese (3rd degree harrassment - domestic violence - misdemeanor). I already did a background check thru the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (that is where we live) and all that pops up is the arrest for 3rd degree assault. This will eventually get cleared when she is off probation. But she wants a job NOW. How likely do you think a good company will forgive her for this mistake. We were just going thru a very hard time with life and I called the cops on her because she is self abusive. She is very depressed about this and I provide as much support as I can. Does anyone know anyone who went thru something similar? Can anyone shed some light? Thank you. KC V, we are going to petition to seal the record when she has completed the terms of her deferred judgement. Sorry for the misunderstanding. moreResolved Question: Will a petty offense paraphernalia offense show up on a criminal background check?
This is not even considered a misdemeanor in the state of Colorado, so I wonder if I should ever mention it on job apps. moreResolved Question: Do arrests in one state show up on a federal criminal records check? How about a check from another state?
A Colorado Bureau of Investigations criminal records check reveals an arrest for DWAI. Would an FBI criminal background check reveal this as well? Would a records check from another state? Thanks much. moreResolved Question: Sealing of a charge on my criminal record?
Do misdemeanors go off the background check process after 7 years? I had only one misdemeanor for indecent exposure to someone udner 15 which was a plea bargain because I felt I was not given a chance for a fair trial and had no witnesses to support my case plus I could not afford a better lawyer. I think I deserve an honest chance since that was the ONLY charge I had my whole life. What are my chances of having this sealed so I can live where I want to live? I heard that no sex offense of any kind can be sealed no matter how small even if it is not truly sexual. I am frustrated by this!
